The makers, not the middlemen
We don't resell light. We carve it from stone.
Every Rotlux piece begins as a raw block of natural alabaster. We select it at the quarry, read its veins by hand, carve and sand each shade in our own workshop, then mount it on solid brass. No two pieces are alike — because no two stones are.

The quarry
It starts in the ground
We source blocks of natural alabaster straight from the quarry. Each one carries its own map of honey and amber veins — formed over a hundred thousand years.

Reading the vein
We choose by hand
Every slab is held up to the light and read for its translucency and grain. Only stones that glow the right way are kept — the rest go back.

Carved by hand
Shaped in our workshop
Each shade is carved, turned and hand-sanded in our own atelier — never cast, never mass-produced. The tool marks are part of the piece.

Mounted & lit
Finished on solid brass
The finished stone is mounted on solid brushed brass, wired, and lit for a final check. Only then does it carry the Rotlux name.

The atelier
Made to order, one at a time
We don't hold warehouses of identical stock. When you order, your piece is made — the stone chosen, carved and finished for you. It takes a little longer. It's worth it.
The collection

LIT, THE STONE COMES ALIVE
SWITCHED ON, EVERY VEIN GLOWS. NO TWO PIECES ALIKE.
